Oatbran and pears

Warm oatban cereal with fresh pears and walnuts.


2 C. of water 1/2 cup Oatbran 1/4 tsp. salt 2 fresh ripened pears - (reserve a few slices for garnishing) walnuts - (reserve a tsp for topping) 1/2 tsp. cinnamon sugar 1 TBSP of butter

Place water, salt, chopped walnuts and oatbran in a saucepan, bring to a boil. Peel the pears, and dice the pears so they are about 1" to 1/2" chunks. Add the pears to the boiling mixture and continue to cook until desired thickness a few minutes until thickened. To serve pour the oatbran into a bowl, top with a slice of butter, a few remaining slices of uncooked pears and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and walnuts. Milk and sugar or sweetener can be added if desired.
