1⅓ c. milk
⅓ c. vegetable or canola oil
¼ c. molasses
1 ½ c. bran buds
1 c. each raisins, chopped apple, chopped walnuts
1 ½ c. whole wheat flour
¼ c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 t. baking soda
½ t. baking powder

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line 12 muffin tins with paper cups.
Insert chef's whisk. Turn to Speed 5. Add egg to bowl and beat for about 1 minute. With stand mixer running add vegetable oil- mix for 1 minute. Then add molasses-mix for additional 1 minute. Then add milk-mix for 1 more minute.
Change beater to paddle. Add raisins, apples and walnuts. Mix 1 minute. Let rest.
In another bowl, combine remaining dry ingredients. Turn to Speed 2. Slowly add dry mix to liquid mixture. Stir just until moistened about 30 seconds.
Spoon batter generously into muffin cups. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
Muffins freeze well.
