I was looking for a way to use ripe bananas other than bread. My husband loves scones on the weekend so it was a natural to try them in scones.
2 c flour
1½ t baking powder
8 t butter or margarine
1 ripe banana
¼ c chocolate crispy cereal (optional)

Put the first 4 ingredients in your mixer and mix until crumbly.
Add the next 2 ingredients; or 3 if adding cereal. Mix together until moist and crumbly.
Form dough into a ball and then pat into an 8" circle on the baking sheet. Cut into ⅛ths and move the wedges apart slightly. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 13 minutes. Eat alone or top with jam.
