Ingredients
- 2½cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
- ½cup granulated sugar
- ⅔cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 1teaspoon baking powder
- ½teaspoon baking soda½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2½cups buttermilk
- 3large eggs
- 1teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ½cup vegetable oil
- ½cup semisweet chocolate mini morsels
- ½cup mini marshmallows, optional
Preparation
- 1. Combine the dry ingredients, through to the
- cinnamon, in a large mixing bowl; whisk to
- blend. In either a large measuring cup or
- separate mixing bowl, combine the liquid
- ingredients and whisk to combine. Add the
- liquid ingredients to the dry and whisk until
- almost smooth (some lumps are OK). Fold in
- the morsels and mini marshmallows, if using.
- 2. Preheat the waffle maker to desired setting.
- 3. Pour a scant cup of batter onto the center of

- ready, carefully open the waffle maker and
- remove baked waffle. Then turn and open the
- second waffle plate to remove the second
- waffle. Repeat with remaining batter.
