Lemon Tea Bread

If you like pound cake texture and lemon - you'll love this loaf!




½ Cup Butter (or margarine if you prefer) 1 Cup Sugar 2 Eggs 1½ Cup Flour ½ teaspoon Salt 1 teaspoon Baking Powder 3 teaspoon grated lemon peel ½ Cup Milk ½ Cup Chopped Nuts ½ Cup Sugar 3 Tbsp Lemon Juice

Cream butter and sugar, add all other ingredients except last two. Bake in greased loaf pan 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool 5 minutes in pan. Remove loaf and place on foil. Mix sugar and lemon juice and spoon over bread. Cool completely. Wrap loosely in foil and let stand at least 12 hours before serving.
