Beer Bread

1½ cups whole wheat flour 1⅔ cups bread flour ½ tablespoon salt ¼ stick butter 12 oz. bottle of GOOD beer 1 package yeast (2 teaspoons)

Bring the beer to room temperature and mix all ingredients in a mixer for 2 minutes at low speed. Once the ingredients are well mixed substitute the dough hook and knead for an additional 5 minutes. Let the dough rise for one hour or until it doubles. Remove from the mixing pan and shape into a ball and place on a lightly greased (or cornmeal covered) cookie sheet. Let rise for 45 minutes to one hour Preheat oven to 400°. Cut diagonal lines across the dough and place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
