Irish Coffee

Strong and sweet, this is a favorite way warm up on a cold day, Irish or not!




8   ounces hot coffee

1   tablespoon brown or turbinado sugar

1½ ounces Irish whiskey

Sweetened whipped cream*

     *While you can use store bought whipped cream, go the extra mile and make your own. Whip together ¼ cup heavy cream with 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, a pinch of salt and ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract. Pipe or dollop onto the hot coffee.

1.    Put the coffee in a glass or mug (one that Is able to accommodate 12 ounces). Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved. Stir In the whiskey and then top with whipped cream.  

2.    Serve immediately.
