Iced Cappuccino

Makes 1 serving

Cool down during the warmer months with this refreshing drink.

Ingredients

If preparing with cold foam in a standalone milk frother:

  • 2 tablespoons cold skim milk
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1 shot espresso, chilled
  • 1 ⅓ cup whole milk

If preparing using an espresso machine with an integrated milk frother:

  • Ice, to fill a glass
  • 2 espresso capsules
  • 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons whole milk, chilled, divided

Preparation

If preparing with a standalone milk frother:

  1. With the frothing whisk in place, add the skim milk to the tank. Cover and press the cold milk button.
  2. Put the ice cubes, espresso, and whole milk into a glass. Stir to combine.
  3. When the frothing process is complete, top the drink with the foam. Serve immediately.

If preparing with an espresso machine with an integrated milk frother:

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Brew a double shot of espresso into the glass with the ice. Stir well to cool down the espresso. Pour the 2 tablespoons of milk on top. Reserve.
  3. Put the remaining milk into the Frothing Pitcher. Hold the pitcher in one hand and place under the steam wand so the bottom of the wand is just below the surface of the milk at an angle.
  4. Select the Steam function and press the START/STOP knob to start steaming.
  5. Using the Steam/Hot Water Wand, steam the milk until the foam has reached two-thirds of the way up the pitcher and you can feel that the milk is quite hot. Tap the pitcher a few times to remove any larger bubbles.
  6. Spoon a few tablespoons of the frothed milk on top of the cooled espresso. Serve immediately.
