Ingredients

  • Ginger Syrup:
  • ½cup water
  • ½cup granulated sugar
  • 2tablespoons chopped ginger
  • (approximately one 2-inch piece
  • of ginger)
  • Tea:
  • 1jasmine tea bag
  • (or 1 serving loose tea)
  • water
  • Cocktail:
  • Ice
  • 2ounces chilled jasmine tea
  • 4ounces vodka
  • 2ounces ginger syrup
  • ½ounce peach schnapps
  • ½ounce fresh squeezed orange juice
  • (about ½ small orange)

Preparation

  1. 1. Prepare the ginger syrup: Put water and
  2. sugar into a small saucepan and place
  3. over medium heat. Bring just to a boil
  4. to dissolve the sugar. Add the chopped
  5. ginger and allow syrup to simmer for
  6. about 30 minutes. Strain and reserve
  7. the syrup, discarding the ginger. Chill the
  8. syrup in the refrigerator until needed.
  9. 2. Prepare the tea: Put tea in a heatproof
  10. glass or measuring cup. Put at least 10
  11. ounces of water into the kettle and select
  12. the Delicate setting. Pour 8 ounces of hot
  13. water into the cup. Allow to steep for
  14. about 5 minutes. Strain. Refrigerate tea
  15. until chilled.
  16. 3. Prepare the cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker
  17. with ice. Put cocktail ingredients into the
  18. shaker. Shake well and pour evenly
  19. between 2 martini glasses.
  20. Serve immediately
