Espresso Martini

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2measured scoops finely ground
  • espresso or 2 espresso pods
  • ¾cup vodka
  • ½cup + 1 tablespoon Kahlua®
  • ¼cup + 1 tablespoon Tia Maria®
  • ½cup cold, brewed espresso
  • 6-8ice cubes

Preparation

  1. Press the power button of the Cuisinart®
  2. Espresso Maker to turn the machine on. The
  3. lights around the power, manual, single and
  4. double espresso buttons will illuminate
  5. and when they stop blinking, the machine has
  6. been warmed and is ready to use.
  7. Place the two-cup filter basket in the
  8. portafilter holder. Spoon the espresso grounds
  9. into the basket. Using the tamping tool, press
  10. down the grounds with moderate pressure
  11. and clean any excess from the rim. Secure
  12. the portafilter holder in place.
  13. Place two demitasse cups underneath the
  14. brew head. Program the espresso maker to
  15. brew 4 ounces and press the double espresso button.
  16. Espresso will begin to brew and will stop
  17. when 4 ounces have been brewed. Cover the
  18. brewed espresso and place in refrigerator to
  19. chill.
  20. When the espresso has fully chilled, pour it
  21. into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and add
  22. the liquors. Shake well and strain into
  23. individual martini glasses.
