Gingerbread Latte
Makes 1 serving
This sweet and spiced latte is perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
Gingerbread Simple Syrup:
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Latte:
- Ground espresso for a single shot
- ½ cup milk
-
2 tablespoons Gingerbread Simple Syrup (see above)
Preparation
- Combine the syrup ingredients in a small saucepan. Set over medium-low heat. Bring to a slight simmer, and cook until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Chill completely prior to using. Note: The syrup can be prepared in advance and stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
- Brew the espresso for a single shot into a mug.
- Put the milk and the 2 tablespoons syrup into the frothing pitcher. Using the steaming wand, steam the milk mixture until the foam has almost reached the top of the pitcher and you can feel that the milk is quite hot. Tap the pitcher a few times to remove any larger bubbles.
- Slowly pour the steamed milk mixture into the mug with the espresso.
- Serve immediately.
