Ingredients
6-10 cucumbers
1-2 onions
3 ½ cups sugar
3 cups white vinegar
⅓ cup canning salt
1 teaspoon alum powder
1 teaspoon celery seeds
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric

Instructions
Slice washed, unpeeled cucumbers and 1-2 onion. Layer both into 1 gallon glass jar. Heat rest of ingredients until very hot, but not boiling. Pour over cucumbers and onions. Cover with a tight fitting lid and shake. Shake daily for 7 days. Keep in refrigerator for up to 1 year.
