Ingredients

  • 1 pound calamari rings
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, to spray
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay® seasoning
  • ¼ cup pickled hot pepper rings, drained
  • 3 lemon wedges
  • Marinara sauce, warm, to serve on the side

Preparation

  1. Pat the calamari thoroughly dry with paper towels.
  2. Sprinkle the cornstarch on a baking pan and scatter the calamari over the cornstarch.
  3. Shake the pan to evenly coat the calamari.
  4. Place the coated calamari rings in the basket.
  5. Spray with an even coating of extra-virgin olive oil, and only 1 side of rings are seasoned with salt and Old Bay® using this method.
  6. Place the basket in the AirFryer. Select AirFry, and set the time to 10 minutes and the temperature to 400°F. Select Toss Reminder and press Start/Stop.
  7. When alerted, shake the basket and spray with additional oil if calamari appear dry.
  8. When calamari rings are finished cooking, remove from the basket.
  9. Top with the pickled hot pepper rings, and serve with lemon wedges and marinara sauce.
