Mini cocktail weenies in an absolutely yummy sauce! The caramel flavored whiskey gives this recipe a better flavor than traditional bourbon but you can use any bourbon or whiskey you have on hand.
1 package mini hot dogs/cocktail weenies (approx. 40)
1 bottle BBQ sauce ('smokey' flavor works best)
⅛ cup ketchup
¼ cup light brown sugar
1 oz. caramel flavored whiskey (or bourbon) (optional: add an additional ounce per batch for an extra kick!)

Mix all ingredients in a medium saucepan on medium heat; heat until weenies are heated throughout, approx. 10-15 minutes. Optional: heat in crock pot on high for 2-3 hours; turn to low an hour before your event. Best eaten with toothpicks or small appetizer forks.
