This is a very simple nut butter to make. We love it. It's especially nutritious and delicious. It's a great dip for crackers!
½ pound raw Brazil nuts
½ pound raw, blanched almonds
mineral sea salt to taste

To blanch almonds:
Put almonds in a bowl.
Carefully add enough boiling water to cover the almonds.
Wait 5 minutes.
Carefully drain and run cool water over them.
Allow to cool completely.
Pop the skin off by squeezing each almond between your thumb and forefinger with the pointy end of the almond facing away from you and into a bowl. The almond will pop right out. Lots of fun to do with the kids too!
Put the almonds and Brazil nuts in the bowl of your Cuisinart food processor, fitted with the steel blade. Add ½ teaspoon of salt to start.
In our food processor (Cuisinart 11-cup), it takes about 3 minutes of processing with the steel blade, to turn the almonds and Brazil nuts into nut butter. Add more salt, if desired.
