Mix mayonnaise, crushed garlic and hot sauce. Its that easy and very tasty. Add more hot sauce or garlic to suit your taste.
Cut in half lengthwise, Remove center fuzzy section then Clip the tips off all the pedals and cut the top half inch of each artichoke half.
Place in a glass bowl or gallon size zip lock bag and sprinkle sea salt and olive oil. Try to get the salt and oil inside the pedals.
Marinate. Let them sit in the fridge for an hour or two.
Cook on grill over medium to low heat until done turning frequently. (Don’t worry about over-cooking. Under cooked will be tough to eat. The pedals will pull off without too much effort and the meat will slide off the pedals when you bite and pull.
Pour yourself and your guest a luscious chewy red cab or favorite beverage.
Dip the pedals in the dipping sauce and enjoy.
When purchasing artichokes for grilling, select ones of which the pedals are slightly open, not tightly closed.
