A classic appetizer with a twist! This mushroom is a pleasantly pleasing bite to satisfy any crowd!
12 button mushrooms, stems removed
3oz. extra sharp cheddar cheese, small cubed
3 slices thick cut bacon, cooked and diced
1/4 cup small yellow onion diced
1/4 cup celery diced
2 tbsp butter or margarine
1 large egg
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sage
Salt and pepper, to taste

Rinse mushroom caps, set aside. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix remaining ingredients, saving boiling water for last. Once water has been added to mix, scoop enough mixture into each cap so that it is starting to overflow slightly. Place caps on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake uncovered 30-45 minutes.
