Cuisinart® GreenGourmet™ Electric Skillet

Food for Thought:

Cook Healthier and Greener with Cuisinart

Just over a year ago, Cuisinart introduced GreenGourmet™, the industry’s first eco-friendly cookware line.  Now, the innovative features of this versatile collection are being translated to kitchen electrics as well.

Just like the cookware that inspired it, Cuisinart’s GreenGourmet™ Electric Skillet (model no. CSK-250) is coated in exclusive Cuisinart Ceramica™ nonstick, a petroleum-free ceramic-based cooking surface that contains no PTFE or PFOA (substances often used in nonstick cookware that have raised health concerns over the years).  This generously sized, 14” skillet allows home cooks to sear, fry, griddle, simmer and braise a wide variety of foods with little or no oil or butter, and is extremely easy to clean.

The Benefits of Green Cookware

Eco-Friendly Technology:

Cuisinart’s GreenGourmet™ Electric Skillet enables consumers to create healthy, great tasting meals while making a positive impact on the environment. The skillet was developed using manufacturing techniques that reduce harmful carbon emissions by consuming less energy. The Cuisinart Ceramica™ nonstick coating is applied at a temperature one half that of traditional nonsticks. In addition, Cuisinart’s electric skillet has a scratch-resistant nonstick surface that won’t peel off and conforms to FDA and European RoHS standards for environmentally sound products, and the unit’s packaging is made from 100% recycled materials and is printed using 100% biodegradable soy ink.

“Cuisinart’s GreenGourmet™ Electric Skillet makes it even easier for consumers to become more environmentally friendly,” says Mary Rodgers, Director of Marketing Communications for Cuisinart. “Since this unit provides an ample cooking surface and is so versatile, it’s also perfect for everyone, from newlyweds to large families.”

Besides the eco-friendly features available in Cuisinart’s GreenGourmet™ Electric Skillet, the product offers consumers greater versatility when cooking as well.  With 1800 watts of power and an adjustable temperature control dial that ranges from Warm to 450°F, the skillet is capable of handling everything from pancakes to Cajun barbecue shrimp.  The electric skillet also comes with a recipe booklet that contains over 30 recipes, all of which can be prepared solely on the skillet’s generous 150 square-inch surface.

Cuisinart’s GreenGourmet™ Electric Skillet is designed with a tempered glass lid with stainless steel rim and die-cast stainless steel handles.  The exterior of the pan has a polished stainless steel finish, and the unit also has an indicator light that turns off when the desired temperature is reached.
