New line features six kitchen appliances that combine contemporary with traditional design

STAMFORD, CT - June 2003 Cuisinart, a leading producer of culinary appliances and professional quality cookware, is launching a brushed white product collection that combines a classic white design with a contemporary brushed stainless finish.

Each product in the collection incorporates the latest styling trends with sophisticated technology, offering key consumer benefits, such as ease of use and professional results. The six new products are: the Custom 14™ Food Processor (model no. DFP-14BCW), Mini-Prep® Processor (model no. DLC-1SSW), Classic Toaster Oven Broiler (model no. TOB-160BCW), Classic Style Electronic Toaster (model no. CPT-70BCW), Brew Central™ 12-cup Programmable Coffeemaker (model no. DCC-1200W), and the SmartPower Premier™ 600 Watt Blender (CBT-500W).

Mary Rodgers, Director of Marketing Communications for Cuisinart and Waring, says, "Kitchen design trends are focusing on opening up the kitchen, integrating the utilitarian cooking areas with the family room and adjacent living spaces nearby. This means that more and more countertop appliances are going to be in plain view." She explains that as a result, consumers are looking for culinary appliances with design elements that bridge the gap between all these living areas.

"Cuisinart's brushed white collection can accommodate this need through its balanced design of clean, simple lines and the use of texture," Rodgers says. "In addition, the brushed stainless finish offers consumers the practical benefits of hiding smudges and fingerprints."

According to a recent article in Kitchen & Bath Design News, one of the most popular trends in kitchen design is simplicity. As part of the article, simplicity is defined as having "clean lines" and a "streamlined appearance" - design elements that are increasingly reflected in today's kitchens.

The Brushed White Collection features a diversified product line that addresses a broad range of consumers' culinary needs. Each of the six products in the collection offers distinct features and product benefits. The Custom 14™ Food Processor is a large capacity food processor with a generous 14-cup work bowl. The food processor has an extra large feed tube for whole fruits and vegetables, and comes with a special dough blade that is powerful enough to knead bread dough with ease. For smaller food prep tasks, the Cuisinart Mini-Prep® Processor can handle a variety of time-consuming activities, from mincing delicate herbs to chopping onions. The patented auto-reversing blade allows consumers to select either the chopping or grinding function.

The toaster and toaster oven in Cuisinart's brushed white collection encompass a variety of features to accommodate various consumer preferences. The Cuisinart® Classic Toaster Oven Broiler has a spacious .5 cubic capacity and provides consumers with three different cooking options--conventional baking, broiling, or toasting. In addition, an exclusive Exact Heat™ temperature control consistently monitors and maintains temperature, delivering precise professional results, time after time. For conventional toasting, the Classic Style Electronic Toaster has extra wide slots to accommodate thick slices and offers several other convenience features, such as reheat and defrost controls with a LED display and an extra lift feature for easy removal of bread items.

Cuisinart's brushed white collection also includes the Brew Central™ 12-cup Programmable Coffeemaker. The coffeemaker has a charcoal water filter that removes impurities for better tasting coffee and is fully programmable day or night. Other product benefits include custom heat control, which allows consumers to adjust the heater plate to one of three settings after the brewing is complete, and a decalcification indicator light that indicates when its time to clean the unit.

One of Cuisinart's newest product introductions in the brushed white collection is the SmartPower Premier™ 600 Watt Blender. The blender has the power to handle even the toughest blending tasks. The new appliance has superior ice crushing capability and a 50-ounce blender jar with dripless pour spout. The blender also has a Count-Up Timer with a digital display that keeps track of blending time, so each recipe is followed to perfection, along with a continuous beep after five minutes of blending time, to ensure that ingredients aren't overprocessed.
