Cuisinart 2- and 4-Slice Motorized Metal Toasters

Product Description:

Cuisinart’s new lever-less toasters are bringing a new level of innovation to this traditional kitchen electrics category.  With just the touch of a button, bread items are lowered into the units’ extra wide slots, and can then be toasted to one of seven distinct shades.  The toasters are also equipped with enhanced, one-sided bagel toasting, and cancel, defrost and reheat functions for everything from perfect bagel sandwiches to delicious strudel.  Both brushed stainless toasters have blue backlit LED displays, an LCD countdown feature and audible alert signals as well, and the 4-Slice version has two independently operated control panels for increased versatility.

Story Angles/Statistics/Facts/Anecdotes:

  • 21st Century Toaster:  Say goodbye to levers – more than a hundred years after the first electric toaster was invented, Cuisinart is introducing a smarter way to make toast.

  • Toasting, a Tale as Old as Time – Toasting bread in ancient times was a means of preservation.  The Romans spread the concept of toasting bread throughout Europe, even into Britain, and the colonists brought toast to the Americas. The word 'toast,' in fact, comes from the Latin word tostum, meaning scorch or burn.
  • So Many Spreads, So Little Time:  The most popular spread in America – butter.  Brits love beans on toast and the Aussies can’t do without vegemite (a thick, brown yeast extract).  In Italy, nutella® trumps all.
