Food’s only job isn’t to fill our stomachs and satiate our hunger. There’s a reason why we should eat more of some foods and totally avoid others. As the saying goes, “you are what you eat.” Our bodies react in many ways to what we put inside them, and one of the results is healthier skin. Certain foods can fight wrinkles, hydrate or even out skin tone. Depending on your problem areas, you may want to increase your intake of these foods:

Chocolate: Many people avoid chocolate because they think it causes breakouts. Although it seems like a dream, dark chocolate can be great for skin! It’s packed with antioxidants and flavonoids that absorb UV light, protecting the skin and improving hydration.

Green Tea: Filled with antioxidants called polyphenols, green tea protects the body from free radicals, which are associated with quick aging and various diseases. It also helps regulate blood flow which gives skin its rosy glow. Prepare to look younger!

Pomegranates: This fruit not only taste good, but like green tea, it is also packed with polyphenols to help your skin. You can also apply it directly to your skin to smooth lines and moisturize.

Eggs: Eggs pack a heavy punch when it comes to healthy skin. They are a great source of protein, which helps repair tissue. They also contain selenium which can help fight skin infections and decrease your risk of skin cancer. The vitamin A in eggs can help prevents moles and skin tags as well as acne.

Kale: Not only does kale help protect against cancer, arthritis and cholesterol, it also makes your skin glow! Packed with iron and vitamin C, this tasty food encourages collagen production and fights wrinkles.
