Caramelized Onion Green Beans


2 lbs fresh green beans
2 large vidalia onions (sliced)
1 cup chicken stock
1 cup slivered toasted almonds
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cup bacon bits


Clean and trim green beans. Place green beans in large skillet with chicken stock and simmer for 15 minutes till evaporated. Remove beans and saute onions in butter till translucent, then sprinkle with sugar to caramelize. Place beans back in skillet with onions, top with bacon bits and almonds.
