Stamford, CT Cuisinart garnered top honors for its first cookbook, Simple & Enticing Recipes, at this year’s Communicator Awards. The Communicator Awards is an independent, international awards competition honoring excellence in communications. Cuisinart’s cookbook received the prestigious Crystal Award of Excellence, the highest honor in the competition, and was chosen from over 5,000 entries from throughout the United States and overseas.
Simple & Enticing Recipes is a collection of Cuisinart Executive Chef Fabrizio Bottero’s favorite recipes and highlights his commitment to creating an appreciation for the spirit of togetherness that comes with sharing good food with family and friends. The book emphasizes fresh ingredients with easy-to-follow instructions specifically designed to encourage home chefs to expand their repertoire and make cooking a memorable experience.
The cookbook consists of six chapters, each devoted to a particular course. The chapters are entitled “Lively Appetizers,” “Rewarding Soups, Salads & Sandwiches,” “Aromatic Breads,” “Irresistible Side Dishes,” “Delectable Entrées,” and “Enchanting Desserts.” The cookbook features recipes with authentic flavors such as Baked Brie with Sautéed Apples and Brown Sugar, Spinach Salad with Grilled Portobellos & Roasted Red Pepper Dressing, and Roasted Shallot and Rosemary Popovers.
Each recipe in Bottero’s book is rated to reflect the level of cooking ability involved— beginner, moderate, or advanced. However, even the novice chef can create the advanced recipes by taking a little more time and effort to master the details. The recipes also include nutritional information, allowing home chefs to make important choices in meal planning and to monitor special diets that may require limits on sodium, carbohydrates, cholesterol and fiber.
In addition to a variety of specialties, Simple & Enticing Recipes includes time-saving techniques for preparing dishes using Cuisinart’s culinary appliances. These tips include recipes that use core products like the company’s signature food processor line, as well as recently introduced products like the Cuisinart Griddler, from Cuisinart’s Countertop Appliance Collection. All of the recipes have been tested in Cuisinart’s kitchen to ensure that consumers create consistent results when cooking at home.
Born in Rome, Italy, Bottero has been Executive Chef and Test Kitchen Director at Cuisinart for the past fifteen years. Before joining Cuisinart, he managed several prestigious New York restaurants, including Sign of the Dove and 65 Irving Place. Bottero has earned numerous awards, including “Distinguished Guest Chef” from Johnson and Wales University in 2000, and was named one of America’s Outstanding Chefs in 1992 by the National Chef’s Registry.
