STAMFORD, CT - October 2002 Cuisinart, a leading producer of culinary appliances and professional quality cookware, has introduced two new models in its Grind and Brew™ collection--the Grind and Brew Thermal™ 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker and the Grind and Brew™ 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker. Both products offer innovative features for improved taste and consumer convenience, and sport a new sleek Italian design.
Despite the proliferation of neighborhood coffee bars, the majority of coffee preparation still takes place in the home. According to the National Coffee Association's National Coffee Drinking Trends 2002 report, 62% of all "gourmet coffee" is prepared at home. (Gourmet coffee is defined as premium whole beans or ground variety.) Mary Rodgers, Director of Marketing Communications for Cuisinart and Waring, says, "Today's discriminating consumers want coffee bar-quality without leaving home. With the new Grind and Brew™ models, consumers can create flavorful, fresher tasting coffee without going out to get it."
The keystone of Cuisinart's Grind and Brew™ line is that the whole beans are ground just before brewing, ensuring the freshest possible cup of coffee. The new models retain this feature, while boasting a streamlined European design, as well as several functional benefits for the consumer. One of the most significant benefits of the new coffeemakers is the separation of the grinding chamber from the grinder basket. This simplified design reduces moisture in the grinding chamber, making it easier for consumers to clean the machine after each use. Another newly added feature is a charcoal water filter that removes impurities from the water and improves the coffee's flavor.
The Grind and Brew Thermal™ 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker (DGB-600BC) ensures delicious tasting coffee because it brews directly into a double walled stainless steel thermal carafe. The carafe is an attractive serving piece that is easily transported from counter to table, while retaining the flavor and temperature of the coffee. The carafe's generous capacity holds up to 50 ounces of coffee and keeps it hot for up to six hours after brewing.
In addition, the Grind and Brew Thermal™ 10-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker features an easy-to-read digital clock that allows users to program fresh coffee day or night, selecting any capacity from 1-4 or 5-plus cups. The Brew Pause™ feature allows those in a hurry to enjoy a cup of coffee before the whole pot has finished brewing, and the programmable automatic shutoff feature is built in for safety. In addition, the model comes with a gold tone commercial-style basket filter.
The second addition to the Grind and Brew™ family is Cuisinart's fully programmable Grind and Brew™ 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker. This model has the same convenient features as the DGB-600, but comes with a standard carafe. The Grind and Brew™ 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker is available in white (model. no. DGB-500) and black (model no. DGB-500BK).
In addition to the new Grind and Brew™ coffeemakers, Cuisinart offers a full selection of other models, from the portable Two to Go™ Coffeemaker to the Brew Central™ 12-cup Programmable Coffeemaker with custom heat control and other high performance features.
