Tennessee Christmas Cran-Apple Pandowdy
"
A very quick & easy dessert that will please everyone. Has a wonderful holiday aroma."
Ingredients
2 Cans Apple Pie Filling
1 Cup Fresh Cranberries
1/4 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Water
1 Refrigerated Pie Crust
1/4 Cup Milk
2 T Sugar
1/2 t Cinnamon
Instructions
In a medium pan, combine cranberries, brown sugar & water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Continue to cook until mixture thickens. Remove from heat & stir in pie filling. Pour mixture into a 9 X 13 baking pan which has been sprayed with cooking oil spray. Tear pie crust into irregular pieces about 3" across and lay on top of hot apple-cranberry mixture. Overlap as necessary to use all the dough. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar & cinnamon. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until the crust is nicely browned. Serve warm or at room temperature.
