A hearty spicy chowder great for cold days.
Sausage Bean Chowder
INGREDIENTS
1 lb Bulk Pork Sausage
2 cans kidney beans
1 cup cubed potatoes
1 green pepper, 1/2 inch square cut
1 large onion, 1/2 inch square cut
1 Large can whole tomatoes
1 bay leaf
Garlic powder, Seasoning Salt, coarse ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Brown the sausage until cooked.
After the sausage is cooked put it in a large crock pot. Smash the tomatoes between your fingers and pour the entire contents of the can into the crock pot. Put all other ingredients into the crock pot, do not drain the kidney beans. Add enough water to bring the level up to about 1/2 inch from the top of the crock pot.

Cook until the potatoes are soft. I usually start this in the morning and leave the crock pot on all day. My family all thinks this is better the next day.
