Easy Portuguese Bean Soup

A quick and easy recipe for a cold evening or first course"


1 Portuguese sausage, mild or spicy depending on your taste
1 can kidney beans
1 can tomato paste
2 large smoked ham hocks


Slice the sausage into half inch pieces and cube
Remove meat from ham hocks and cube into half inch pieces
Place all ingredients in a pot, cover with water and bring to a boil
Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for two hours.
