Vegetarian Chili

1.4 oz. can of green chilies-chopped-(I might try chipotle chilies next time)
2.3-cloves garlic
3.2 ½ cups-chopped onions
4.2 ½ cups-chopped celery
5.½- chopped green pepper
6.4-cups water
7.I-can 15 oz. pinto beans or black beans-rinsed and drained
8.½-cup dried lentils-(secret ingredient)
9.1-28 oz. can peeled, chopped tomatoes
10.2-15 oz. cans tomato sauce
11.1-small bottle Brooks catsup
12.3-tablespoons chili powder
13.½-teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste
14.2-tablespoons dried oregano
15.1-teaspoon cumin
16.3-tablespoons tamari/soy sauce or to taste
17.Salt and pepper to taste
18.Tabasco sauce to taste
19.Canola oil for sauté
Instructions
Sauté onions, garlic, celery, green pepper and green chilies in oil until onions are translucent
Add ingredients 6 through 11 and simmer for about 2 hours
Add ingredients 12 through 18 and continue simmering for about 1 hour.
Add water during steps above for desired consistency
