Old Fashioned Red Stew
User Submitted Recipe
“
This is a low salt version of the stew my mother-in-law used to make."
Ingredients
1 lb stew meat
7 md potatoes
6 carrots
3 celery stalks
1 can peas no salt
1 can corn no salt
1 can Contidina tomato sauce
1 sm can no salt tomato sauce
V8 low sodium
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Chili powder
Instructions
Peel potatoes, carrots and cut into bite sizes. Put a large soup pot over medium heat on the stove. Cut stew meat into bite sizes and lightly brown in pot. Add tomato sauces, V8 and water from the tomato sauce cans. Add cans of veggies with juices. Add seasonings to taste. Cook until veggies are done and the sauce is thick. You will not need to add any thickening additives as the tomato sauce thickens itself. If it gets too think, you can always add water. Lightly salt if needed.
