Lentil and Yellow Pea Soup with KielbasaUser Submitted Recipe
1 can 16 ounces of tomato pieces
1 package lentils
⅓ cup of yellow peas
1 red pepper if on hand
3-4 green peppers
1-2 carrots if on hand
one large onion
7-9 cups chicken broth
2 teaspoons Seasoned Pepper
kielbasa sliced to serve
Sauté the vegetables and meat at medium high heat for about 5 minutes in a small amount of oil in a deep soup pot or dutch oven.
Add water, add broth
Add lentils and peas and bring to a boil and reduce to a slow simmer.
Cook gently for about 40 minutes or until lentils are soft.
Add sliced kielbasa and cook briefly until cooked through
