Brie & Maple Crunch
1 lb Brie cheese
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2-1 cup Pure maple syrup
1 cup Dried Cranberries
1/2 cup Dates
1 box Filo "pastry" Dough
In a large nonstick saucepan, put a few tablespoons of olive oil in saucepan, break apart brie and place into pan at med-low heat and let cheese begin to melt. Add Maple syrup, Almonds, and cranberries continue to cook till a gooey yummy mix!! when all cheese is melted and mixed together, place on filo dough and roll up, moisten ends to secure like a pocket brush with egg wash and place on a non stick baking pan (I use a silpat)and bake according to the filo box instructions. I usually bake at 300-350 for 10-15 minutes, You REALLY must watch as to not burn or over cook filo. When golden brown remove from oven to cool for about 10 minutes, then cut and serve. It is great with french toast, pancakes, or be creative and serve as an appetizer at a party with french bread as a heated type of dip also.
