Green Beans with Toasted Almonds


1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon finely chopped shallots
1 pound green beans, trimmed
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons slivered almonds, lightly toasted


Preheat Cuisinart™ Electric Skillet to 250°F; add olive oil, but do not stir. Add shallots to oil and cook 1 minute. Add beans and season with salt and pepper; stir to combine. Cook 2 minutes; add 1 cup water, cover and steam 5 minutes. Remove cover and cook until water has evaporated and beans are tender, 6-7 minutes. Add butter and almonds; toss to coat.
