Cranberry-Orange Relish
User Submitted Recipe
“
A homemade alternative to canned cranberry sauce."
Ingredients
1 Cup sugar (or Splenda)
1 Cup water
1 12 ounce bag Fresh Cranberries
4 ounces candied Orange peel
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, heat water and sugar (or Splenda) until dissolved. Add cranberries and simmer, stirring often, until berries have popped and begun to thicken (about 10 - 15 minutes). Add candied Orange peel (after rinsing off syrupy glaze - or your relish may be too sweet) and continue to heat and stir for another 10 minutes or so, until well blended. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 - 15 minutes, then put into sealable container and refrigerate.
*This can be prepared the night before, or earlier.
