Slow Cooked Baked Beans


12 oz. bacon, cut into bite sized pieces
1 cup rough chopped onion
1 #10 cans Bush’s baked beans
1 20 oz bottle of ketchup
4 ounces Gulden’s spicy brown mustard
10 oz brown sugar
3 ounces Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion, whole, peeled and studded with 8 cloves


1. Mix all ingredients, except clove studded onion, in large mixing bowl.
2 Transfer to Dutch oven. Imbed clove studded onion into bean mixture.
3. Bake uncovered at 250* F for 8-10 hours. Do not stir while baking. The beans should be relatively dry, crusty and caramelized on top.
*saute bacon & onions before adding to mixture.
Can be sized up or down.
