Easter AspargusUser Submitted Recipe
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup chicken broth
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1/2 t. salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
2 pounds fresh asparagus
Melt butter in saucepan, add flour. Stir cook this mixture 1-2 minutes. Add chicken broth and milk and whisk. Stir constantly until thick. Add cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, salt and pepper. Stir until cheese melts.
Cook asparagus in salted water until crisp tender. Drain.
Pour sauce over cooked asparagus. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese. Broil til bubbly.
