English Cookies

“ This is a spicy cake like cookie with a unique taste."

Ingredients

1 cup cold coffee
1 cup Crisco
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon nutmeg
4 cups flour
1 cup stewed raisins
2 eggs (well beaten)
1 teaspoon soda (scant) put in coffee
1/2 teaspoon salt


Instructions

Cream sugars and Crisco. Mix in rest of ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
