2 Cups unsalted butter
2 Cups sugar
6 Tblsp. water
1 Tblsp. light corn syrup
1 Tblsp. vanilla
3/4 Cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 Cup finely chopped pecans
Instructions
Butter the sides of a heavy 3 qt. saucepan. In the saucepan, melt the butter. Add sugar, water and light corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar melts and mixture comes to a boil. Continue cooking to 290°. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Immediately turn the mixture onto a butter baking sheet. Wait 2-3 minutes for candy surface to firm, then sprinkle with chocolate pieces. Let stand for 1-2 minutes. When chocolate has softened, spread evenly over the hardened candy. Sprinkle with the finely chopped pecans. Chill till the chocolate is firm. Break into pieces.
