Best Cut Out Cookies Ever

A shortbread cookie dough that does not require chilling and that keeps its shape when baking. This is particularly good when used with cookie cutters that press an image onto the top of the cookie. These are so good, frosting is optional."


1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 3/4 cup flour


Blend butter and sugar with a mixer until creamy. Add egg and vanilla and mix until well combined. Add flour, sprinkle in baking powder, then mix until combined.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 400 degree oven for 9 minutes.
