Smokies Under Wraps
User Submitted RecipeOtherwise known as "Wrapped Weinies"
“
It's a bite-sized take-off of the classic cheesy crescent dog but without the cheese and spiced up by using smokies instead of hot dogs. It adds more flavor & works for kids with allergies to milk products."
Ingredients
1 lg. package of refrigerated crescent rolls (8 count size)
1/2 lb. of little smoked sausages (smokies)
Instructions
Cook the sausages/smokies for a quick 3 minutes at a rolling boil. Drain & cool, dry with paper towel but don't squeeze them. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out the refrigerated dough and separate it into 4 sections (2 triangles per section), pinching together the seam between triangles. Cutting from the longer side, cut each of the 4 rectangles into three short but equal strips. Loosely, roll one smokie inside of each strip of dough and place evenly apart on a ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, until golden brown.
