Sugar & Spice Crumples
User Submitted Recipe
“
These are fun to make and eat. The dough is easy to manipulate while frying so that many shapes can be made. No two shapes are ever alike making each one a unique creation. To serve as a dessert, form them into a shallow bowl shape, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and dust the whole creation with spiced sugar. Yum!"
Ingredients
8 Egg Roll Wrappers
1 cup vegetable / canola oil
3 table spoon cinnamon
3 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
Heat oil in high sided frying pan at medium to medium high flame/temperature. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together and pour into a shaker. Gently lay into oil an egg roll wrapper, using two spatulas, crumple the wrapper into gentle folds (somewhat like a loosely crumpled sheet of paper) flip the wrapper so that both sides fry to a light golden brown. Remove, allowing excess oil to run off the fried dough, lay on a paper towel and shake spiced sugar on both sides. Serve immediately
