Best Shepherd Pie Ever

This combination of potatoes, beef and vegetables works for any palate, especially kids. "


1 ¼ lb potatoes (cut into chunks)
4 oz cream cheese
¼ + ¾ c shredded cheddar cheese

1 lb. ground beef,
1/2 onion, chopped
3 T flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 ½ c beef broth
½ c Marsala wine
2 T tomato paste
3 splashes Worcestershire
1 cup frozen corn
1 c frozen peas
1 c shredded carrots

3 T chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper


Cover potatoes with water in large pan. Bring to a boil on high heat. Reduce to low; simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes or very tender. Drain; return to pan with cream cheese. Mash to desired consistency. Stir in ¼ c cheese and season.
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Brown ground beef with diced onions. Do not drain. Add the garlic powder and flour and stir. Add broth, wine, Worcestershire, and tom paste and stir. Add vegetables - juices will hold it together. Remove from heat and add parsley and season.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Put beef mixture into 9x9 baking dish. Cover with mashed potatoes. Bake 18 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake 2 additional minutes or until cheese is melted.
