New-Fashioned Rice Pudding

When I was a little girl, my mom and I used to fix rice pudding for my dad and my younger siblings. Everyone loved it; we would also fix it for a Sunday afternoon snack."

Ingredients

1 cup uncooked instant rice
1 1/2 cup milk
3 or 4 Tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg
1/4 cup raisins (optional, more if desired)


Instructions

Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat. Cover and let stand 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve warm with cream.
