Easy Saltine Toffee
User Submitted RecipeIngredients
Salted saltine crackers
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Finely chopped nuts of choice (I used soy nuts)
Instructions
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, sprayed lightly with cooking spray. That will help you remove the toffee once it sets. Cover surface with saltines. Meanwhile, melt butter and brown sugar in a small pan over low heat until it is nice and caramel-colored. Make sure not to burn it. Once it is ready, pour the sauce over your crackers and spread out. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees. Turn off oven but do not remove pan, add chocolate chips and let melt. Spread over the entire surface. Sprinkle with nuts. Let cool in the fridge and then cut to size. ENJOY!
