Butter CakeUser Submitted Recipe
1/2 lb sweet butter
6 egg yolks
2 Tbsp. Brandy
6 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 Cup Flour
1 Cup sifted Corn Starch
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/8 tsp salt
Sift together the flour, cornstarch, Baking Powder and salt. set aside.
Cream butter, gradually add sugar beating til light and fluffy. Add 1 egg yolk at a time, beating after each addition. Add flour mixture into butter. mix lightly. Stir in brandy. Fold in egg whites. turn into buttered 9" spring form pan.
Bake in 325 degree oven 1 hour or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool on cake rack before taking out on the pan. Dust with confectioner sugar.
