Apple Tart

This Apple Tart freezes well and thaws and transports nicely."


Sweet Dough Crust:
1/2 C butter
1 C flour
1/3 C sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla

Cheese filling:
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 C sugar
1 egg
1 drop vanilla

1/3 C sugar
1/ tsp cinnamon
4 C apples
1/4C sliced almonds


Sweet Dough Crust:
Cream sugar & butter together. Add vanilla, blend in flour with hands until crumbly, press into bottom & sides of 9" spring pan.

Cheese filling:
Beat cheese and sugar together, add egg & vanilla, blend well. Pour over crust.

Combine sugar & cinnamon. Toss apples in mixture. Spoon apples onto cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake for 10 minutes @ 450 degree oven. Reduce to 400 degree oven for 25 minutes.
