Easy Apple Dumplings

I helped my mom (88 years old) put together favorite family recipes for Christmas gifts for all our family members last year. This easy and delicious apple dumpling recipe is one of the best in the bunch!"


2 apples, peeled, cored and quartered
1 8 oz. container Crescent Rolls
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup orange juice
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter


Preheat the oven to 350° F

Wrap each apple quarter in a piece of crescent roll dough. Place in a baking dish large enough to hold the pieces without crowding.

Add orange juice and butter to a saucepan and begin heating. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together and add to the saucepan. Bring the orange juice, butter and cinnamon/sugar mixture to a boil. Mix well and remove from the heat.

Pour over the dough-wrapped apples and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or just until the dough beings to brown well.
