Chocolate CracklesUser Submitted Recipe
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate (chopped fine)
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tps salt
1/2 unsalted butter, room temp
1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 stp vanilla extract
1/3 cup whole milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup confectioners sugar
Melt chocolate in glass bowl, over simmering water in a pan and then let cool.
Mix flour, cocoa power, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
Beat Butter and brown sugar on medium until pale. mix in eggs and vanilla then melted chocolate. Turn mixer to low and add in flour mixture, alternating flour and milk. Divide dough into four sections and put on parchment paper (i find it easiest to make the dough a perfect square). Put in fridge till firm. Two hours would be fine, but I typically do this over night.
Cut each dough section into 12 pieces. roll untill a ball in the palm of your hands (you may need to wipe off your hands every few cookies to make them roll easier) then roll the cookie in the sugar and confectioners sugar. Cook at 350 degrees for 13-14 minutes. Until the cookies crack.
