Pears with Chocolate Sauce

To make it quick & simple, use canned pears. But no comparison in taste when fresh pears are in season."

Pears with Chocolate Sauce
Soft brown sugar
200 grams water - 600 ml
juice of 1/2 an orange
1" piece sweet pears -6
milk chocolate - 100 grams
butter - 25 grams
godiva coffee liqueur - 20 ml
honey - 1 tablespoon
orange juice - 50 ml
vanilla ice cream - 18 small scoops

Dissolve sugar in the water in a deep pan/dish. Add the juice of 1/2 an orange & cinnamon & boil for 2 minutes. Peel the pears leaving the stalks where possible. Stand the pear upright & poach for 15 minutes or till tender. Turn the pears occasionally so that they cook evenly & let them cool in the syrup. To make sauce, gently heat milk chocolate, butter, honey & oj. When chocolate has melted, add the liqueur & simmer for a minute. To serve, in individual cups, place a pear & put 3 scoops of ice cream around each pear. Pour the sauce on top & enjoy.
