Chocolate Pie

My Mother was an excellent cook. She was always cooking different foods and just had a knack for cooking. She passed away 6 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her and I would love to be able to be able to enjoy her and her cooking."


6 tblsp.flour
2-1/2 Tblsp. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2-1/2 c. milk (warmed slightly)
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yolks
1 cooked pie shell


Mix flour, sugar, cocoa and salt. Sift these ingredients, add milk and egg yolks. Cook until thickened, then add butter and vanilla. Use a wire whisk to beat chocolate to make smooth. Pour into a cooked pie shell or graham cracker crust. Top with cool whip.
