The Peppernuts are a crunchy little delight with a warm nutty flavor that are slightly sweet with a hint of coconut.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups butter at room temperature
2 eggs
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 1/2 cup coconut
4 cups flour added 1 cup at a time.
Instructions
In a small bowl mix flour and soda, set aside.
In a stand mixer cream sugar butter. Add eggs one at a time. Add nutmeg whipping cream nuts and coconut. Add soda and flour one cup at a time.
Roll dough into logs on a lightly floured surface. Cut and roll into dime size balls. Place balls on baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown all over.
